New homeowners of a beautiful custom-built house were struggling with how to make a smaller than anticipated loft space work for their family with three young children. The width of the room is only 8’ and it is the major traffic route to reach the home’s 4 bedrooms. The design concept was to make everything multi-functional and movable. The floor was covered with a tight pile commercial grade carpet to provide for all the “moving parts”. Tables slide out to provide work space or game table while anchoring pieces create a cozy chat nook. This small space became a highly functioning kid zone in the home.
